Parks Police Top Dog

A member of the Wandsworth Parks Police canine section proved he was the top dog when he and his handler walked away with top award at the AIK9 UK Challenge 2006 competition.
PC Tustain and Ike (pictured, right) earned the winners title and a prize of £250.
Ike, a Malinois (a breed of Belgian Shepherd Dog) along with handler PC Michael Tustain, beat competitors from police forces, HM Prison Service, HM Armed Forces and security companies across the UK as part of the competition held in Swansea.
Annual Competition
The competition is staged annually and tests dog and handlers teams in a variety of exercises including obedience, agility and criminal work.
PC Tustain commented: “Ike is no stranger to winning dog trials having won the British Police and Services Canine Association Service (BPSCA) Dog of the Year Competition and the Inter Counties Police Dog Trial last year. He did extremely well again and beat some very good dogs to win this competition. We have donated our winning cash prize to the McMillan Cancer Support.”
First established in 1981 Wandsworth Parks Police Service help ensure residents of Wandsworth and visitors who use the borough's parks and open spaces can enjoy them in safety. Parks Police Officers have the status of Police Constables as well as having joint status as council officers. The Parks Police are also responsible for the Wandsworth Dog Control Unit
