London Locations On Screen

Some of London’s most famous buildings and parks are the stars of Film London’s Top 20 Film Locations: including Tower Bridge, Battersea Park and London Zoo.
Also on the list are some of London’s best-kept secret film locations including Bethnal Green Town Hall (Revolver), the Freemason’s Hall – which appeared in The Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy - and Finsbury Park, as well as some unusual new entries to the list which have capitalised on the recent rise in location filming in London.
Location, Location, Location
Topping Film London’s location list, with over 200 days of filming in the past year, was the BA London Eye a key location for Doctor Who (in the very first episode of the smash hit new series, being used as a transmitter to awaken the Auton mannequins to terrorise the capital’s streets for the first time since Jon Pertwee was behind the controls of the TARDIS!) and in the The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse as well as numerous other TV programmes.
In second place was Battersea Park in Wandsworth which has featured in the last year in the forthcoming feature films Click and Stoned; and third was the Millennium Bridge, a host to TV hits including BBC TVs Secret Service/MI5 drama Spooks and the series Dirty Filthy Love

London’s hugely diverse cityscape attracts film-makers from all over the world. 10,683 shooting days took place in the capital last year; on average that is 30 crews filming on the streets of the city each day. This year many major feature films including Anthony Minghella’s Breaking and Entering, The Da Vinci Code, Basic Instinct 2 and Woody Allen’s new London project have all been shot in the capital.
