A laugh-out-loud comedy - with a fresh lesbian take on sex and the single girl.
Kissing Jessica Stein
When we first meet Jessica Stein - a sensitive but neurotic New York journalist - she is at the end of her emotional rope. Her brother's engaged, her best friend's pregnant, her mother’s on her case, she hasn't had a decent date in a year, and if that weren’t enough…she’s got insomnia.
Women Seeking Women
After a dating spree from hell, she happens upon an intriguing personal ad, whose only drawback is that it's in the 'women seeking women' section. On a daring whim, she answers it and meets funky downtown hipster Helen Cooper. To Jessica’s surprise, they click instantly. Their evening of banter and heated debate culminates in a kiss that confounds and intrigues even the reluctant Jessica.
With conventional gender roles absent, the two women proceed to muddle through an earnest, but hilarious courtship, making up the rules as they go along.
Here's what some of the critics have said about Kissing Jessica Stein:

"This charming, thought-provoking New York fest of life and love has its rewards." - Tom Grealis (RTE Interactive, Dublin).
"Wonderfully witty" - (The Sun newspaper)
"The Woodman seems to have directly influenced this girl-meets-girl love story, but even more reassuring is how its makers actually seem to understand what made (Woody) Allen's romantic comedies so pertinent and enduring." - Jason Clark (Matinee Magazine).
"Guaranteed to make you smile" - (Total Film magazine.)
"...if I waver in my enthusiasm, less than easily charmed by a movie trying so cheerfully to entertain, it's because Kissing Jessica Stein is all too content to be a comedy of surfaces and stereotypes." - Lisa Schwarzbaum (Entertainment Weekly).
"Brilliant" - (Uncut magazine).
"...a delightfully unpredictable, hilarious comedy with wonderful performances that tug at your heart in ways that utterly transcend gender labels." - Lou Lumenick (New York Post).
"Wickedly funny" - (Glamour magazine).
"Utterly winning" - (Sunday Telegraph newspaper).
"...for an American film it is a groundbreaker in exploring the realm of sexual fluidity, and it does so with wit, wisdom and in a completely entertaining fashion. - Kevin Thomas (Los Angeles Times).
"Laugh-out-loud lines, adorably ditsy but heartfelt performances, and sparkling, bittersweet dialogue that cuts to the chase of the modern girl's dilemma." - Leslie Camhi (Village Voice).
"Every woman must see this film...Honestly and truly, it's the best comedy in town. Here is your summer treat" - (Evening Standard newspaper).
"The sweetest, sharpest romantic comedy you will see all year" - (The Times newspaper).
