Enter the world of international espionage as Sydney Bristow, a woman on a mission to find the man who murdered her fiancé.
Alias
Continuing the vogue for games based on TV shows with striking female stars, Alias turns out to be a great game with a license not just a licensed game.
After two years of being a double agent inside the criminal organization, SD-6, Sydney Bristow thought she'd brought it down from the inside. She thought her mission was over. She thought she was getting out of the CIA. But when you're a spy, the truth is never that simple...Arvin Sloane, the mastermind behind SD-6 – and the man who murdered her fiancé - remains at large. And as long as he's out there, Sydney will never be safe.
Third-Person
Alias is a third-person action adventure video game that allows players to step into the role of the series' lead character, Sydney Bristow, an agent for the United States’ security agency, the CIA. Bristow must use her cunning, extensive knowledge of martial arts and array of high-tech gadgetry to accomplish dangerous missions.
The game has been designed to encompass all of the key elements behind the success of the television series that it originates from, including high-action combat, stealth missions and time-based objectives, espionage, intriguing plot twists, high-tech weaponry and stunning, globe trotting gameplay locations.
Game features in Alias include:

Characters
Evan Stein, Vice President of Marketing for Acclaim, who are responsible for the game version of the show, says: "Alias is one of the strongest new TV entertainment properties and is filled with great characters, rich storylines and incredible action that lends itself perfectly to interactive entertainment...we are thrilled to have Alias join our portfolio of world-renowned licenses."
"With the strength of the storylines in Alias, we couldn't imagine a better venue of expression then through the world of video games," adds Bruce Gersh, Vice President of Business Development at ABC. "We are excited about the prospect of a great game that will bring all the elements of the show to a new fan base in the gaming world."
"We are very excited to be working in concert with this very talented cast and production team to deliver an entertainment experience that truly captures the essence of ABC's successful series," said Rod Cousens, Global President and Chief Operating Officer for Acclaim. "As technology continues to evolve, it allows us to create content that is on par with feature films and television."
Continuity
J.J. Abrams, creator and executive producer of the Alias television show said: "As an avid video game player, I have been enjoying the collaborative product development process and working in a new form of media to create a video game based on Alias. Having the continuity of our cast and writers being involved with this project ensures that the video game will reflect the series' production values and definitive style.""I'm very excited to be part of this game, which is testimony to our show's loyal fans and talented production team," said Jennifer Garner (who played Daredevil movie), who plays Alias’ lead character, the sometime raven haired, sometime Avengers’ Mrs Peel look-alike (she is, after all, a mistress of disguise!) Sydney Bristow.
"In working with the developers, I was extremely impressed with how they captured the look and feel of the show, especially my 'virtual Sydney' character."
Virtual Sydney
"With the convergence of Hollywood and video games, Alias is a perfect example of how interactive entertainment has accelerated to the next level," said Bruce Gersh, Vice President of Business Development at ABC. "The fascinating and strong character of Alias Sydney Bristow is so engaging on the TV screen, and her 'virtual Sydney' is equally mesmerising in the video game."
"Alias is an important initiative in our strategy of producing games that reach not only the core gaming community, but an older segment of the video game market through our newly formed label, Buena Vista Interactive," said Graham Hopper, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Buena Vista Games, Inc. "Alias is another example of the match of a great franchise becoming a great game."
The following cast members from the television series are featured within the game: Jennifer Garner (Sydney Bristow), Michael Vartan (Michael Vaughn), Victor Garber (Jack Bristow), Ron Rifkin (Arvin Sloane), Carl Lumbly (Marcus Dixon), Kevin Weisman (Marshall Flinkman) and David Anders (Mr. Sark). In all Alias the game – akin to the TV show at its best – is a unique blend of action and stealth play that puts you under fire and under pressure. Whether you're up against the clock or being hunted by the enemy, fighting against the odds or fleeing for your life, the action is relentless.
Gadgets
The arsenal of gadgets, gimmicks and ultra modern kit available in the game allows you to utilise incredible spy ware, with the sort of hardware that puts this game in the same arena as stealth/gadget games like Splinter Cell
There’s an array of alluring disguises to choose from and adopt (the game Sydney’s costumes were designed by the show's costume designer for maximum realism) to complete the most dangerous covert missions.
Anyone who enjoyed the acrobatic flips and fighting prowess of either of the Buffy games - or who enjoys the shoot-'em up acrobatic heroism of Tomb Raider or Dark Angel will definitely find this one to their liking.
Alias truly allows you to experience all the heart-stopping action and tension of this award-winning TV series and get to be Jennifer Garner while you do it. Which really can't be a bad proposition! Don’t forget those gadgets and that lip gloss, go stealthy - and do try and come back in one piece...
Alias the television show was originally created by J.J. Abrams, who executive-produces the series along with John Eisendrath, Ken Olin, Alex Kurtzman-Counter, and Roberto Orci.
