The official live Bottom tour video & DVD is unleashed!
Bottom Live 2003: Weapons Grade Y-Fronts Tour.
This year's Bottom outing has been as explosive as Full Metal Jacket meets Apocalypse Now...in Ipswich.
"Filthy slapstick from a pair of comedy virtuosos" - Daily Express.
Recorded at Southend's Cliffs Pavilion, Bottom: Weapons Grade Y-Fronts offers fans all the belching, bottom burping and top-notch slapstick fisticuffs and comedy violence that they could wish for.
Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson (of The Comic Strip Presents, Blackadder, Young Ones – and even Filthy Rich & Catflap fame) star as their criminally insane alter-egos, the no-hopers Richie and Eddie. Two of life's perpetual, losers Richie and Eddie’s main role in life is exacting as much revenge and pain on the other with a variety of pointy, oversized, or just downright dangerous household implements.
As the show begins Eddie has locked himself in the loo for 15 days and taken to inventing. His first creation is the answer to all of mankind's problems...Weapons Grade Lager. But things don't go according to plan when Richie stumbles across another of his madcap inventions, a time travelling toilet that may seem slightly familiar to anyone who’s noticed it’s the 40th anniversary of time travelling GP Doctor Who, this year. Richie and Eddies vehicle of choice is known only as ‘The Turdis’.
Rik says, "You better bring some spare underwear! This time, it's death and destruction all the way. This is the big one." Developed from thier former on stage personas of Sir Richard and Sir Adrain Dangerous (AKA 'The Dangerous Brothers')from their early stand-up days Bottom Live is - of course - the stage version of the BBC TV series of the same name. If its laughs you're after – particularly if you missed their great live tour – then pay your money and you‘ll get to see Eddie and Richie try and do each other in. But in a funny way…
Bottom: Weapons Grade Y-Fronts is out now on DVD from Universal Pictures, certificate 18.
