Alan Partridge (AKA comedian Steve Coogan) presents the cream of British comedy recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Alan Partridge Presents The Cream Of British Comedy: The Official Bootleg

Alan Partridge's PA Lynn pulled off a bit of a coup when she managed to land Radio Norwich's premier DJ the job of presenting the 2004 Teenage Cancer Trust Comedy night at the Royal Albert Hall. Boasting a stellar comic line-up that included the likes of Ricky Gervais, Simon Pegg (Spaced, Shaun of The Dead, Rob Brydon, Rich Hall, Noel Fielding and guest stars, the 2004 Teenage Cancer Trust Comedy night has already gone down in comic folklore.

Sure to prove a universal hit with comedy fans young and old, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment is releasing Alan Partridge Presents The Cream Of British Comedy on DVD. Recorded in March 2004, the Teenage Cancer Trust shows held at the Royal Albert Hall have become some of the most exciting and memorable events on the entertainment industry calendar. Last year's comedy night - hosted by Steve Coogan (I’m Alan Partridge, Twenty Four Hour Party People) as his hilarious alter-ego Alan Partridge - proved to be the highlight of the week of events organised to support this worthy cause.

Teenage Cancer Trust

The show is part of a week of charity fundraising events to raise money for (The Who frontman) Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust. DVD Producer Des Murphy said: "When Steve Coogan offered to put on a night of comedy for the Teenage Cancer Trust, we didn't know what to expect but we knew it was going to be special. What we got was a line up that included household names from start to finish, and to top it off we had Alan Partridge as the compere! It was one of those nights that you will never forget if you were there. And if you weren't there, the 'Official Bootleg' is the next best thing folks!"

Simon Davies, CEO of Teenage Cancer Trust said: "Teenage Cancer Trust's annual week at the Royal Albert Hall, created and inspired by our unbeatable patron Roger Daltrey CBE, has now become established as a calendar event. The more recent addition of a comedy night, within a week of shows by top bands, has been a storming success.

"We are incredibly grateful to Steve Coogan who launched himself into planning this fantastic night and whilst providing us with an unforgettable evening's entertainment, showed real commitment in supporting teenagers with cancer. He and all the other talented comedians that performed really entered into the spirit of the week. Their contribution helped to raise the £750,000 we made from the 2004 Royal Albert Hall shows, which will go towards building units and providing services for teenagers with cancer. We remain indebted to them."

Alongside almost ninety minutes of side splitting comedy recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall, fans of Alan Partridge will not want to miss his hilarious interview with Who front man and Teenage Cancer Trust patron, Roger Daltrey CBE. Fifteen minutes in duration and written and recorded exclusively for the DVD, this is Alan at his very best. A 12 minute Teenage Cancer Trust promotional video is also included in the bonus material for Alan Partridge Presents The Cream Of British Comedy, alongside 'Alan's Top Teen Toons'; five 2 minute VH1 interstitials.
