Ex-Take That member Robbie Williams has collaborated with Hans Zimmer on the title song for the new Rowan Atkinson comedy spy film Johnny English. Entitled A Man For All Seasons, Zimmer has composed the music and Williams the lyrics.

Johnny English stars Rowan Atkinson as an accident-prone 'M17' agent on a mission to rescue Britain’s crown jewels and save the country and the monarchy from a scheming French business magnate. The film also stars John Malkovich, Ben Miller and Natalie Imbruglia in her feature film debut.

Robbie Williams - arguably Britain’s most celebrated pop star - has achieved record breaking global sales and worldwide acclaim in the last decade. This is his second collaboration with film company Working Title, for whom he recorded two songs for the soundtrack of Bridget Jones’s Diary, including a cover of Frank Sinatra’s Have You Met Miss Jones?.

Theme Song

The idea for Robbie Williams to sing his first title theme song to a movie came out of a casual meeting with Working Title’s Music Supervisor Nick Angel and Williams’ co-manager Tim Clark. Hans Zimmer was already on board to compose the song and Nick suggested that Williams would be perfect to sing it and write the lyrics. He loved the idea and got to work immediately.

Nick Angel said: "Robbie was particularly excited about writing a theme song about the character in the movie rather than a song whose lyrics have little relevance to the film in question. The collaboration between Robbie and Hans was highly successful."

Johnny English - the film for which this track is the theme - was directed by Peter Howitt, from an original screenplay by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and William Davies, and is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Mark Huffam.
