CSRF: The First 40 Years
Last updated: 12/03/2008 - 10:48
The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship (CSRF) is marking its fortieth anniversary by launching a new book: CSRF Celebrating 40 Years 1968-2008.
The new book includes CSRF members’ memories of work and home life in 1968, a focus on the wider world in that year, as well as a look at the CSRF’s achievements in the years that followed.
“We have received so many fascinating submissions for the book,” said Steve Keene, CSRF Head of Communications. “The book provides a real snapshot of life in 1968, both within the civil service and in the wider world, as well as showing how the CSRF has supported retired civil servants over the past forty years. We really hope that this book will help us to raise much needed funds so that we can continue this support.”
The CSRF is a registered charity which exists to help retired civil servants - or their dependants who are lonely, distressed or facing hardship - and is part funded by a Grant-in-Aid from the Cabinet Office and a sister organisation of the Civil Service Benevolent Fund and CS Sports & Leisure.
The book costs £11.99 - including postage and packing - but advance orders received by 15 November will receive the book at a special discounted rate of £7.99. All profits will go to the CSRF to help with its work to provide social welfare assistance to retired civil servants, their widows/widowers and dependants.
To order please send a cheque, and where you wish the book to be sent, to: CSRF Anniversary Book, CSRF, Suite 2, 80A Blackheath Road, London, SE10 8DA, or call 020 8691 7411 for further information.
