Back-to-basics solo bluesman Seasick Steve announces huge gig at the Royal Albert Hall.

Having signed off 2007 as one of the year’s truest new stars - with storming appearances on the likes of BBCTVs flagship live music show Later...With Jools Holland and an impressive, stripped-down album in Dog House Music the guitar man they call Seasick Steve has announced he's to play London's Royal Albert Hall in the Autumn.

The announcement came on stage at his recent sold out gig at London's - rather more modestly sized venue - The Astoria show. Speaking from the small stage about the then just agreed concert in the vast historic venue on the bank of the River Thames on 1 October, he said: “It’s an amazing time. We might have a black man or a woman in the White House or a bum at the Albert Hall. It’s All Good ”.

Seasick will be touring Australia in the Spring - taking part in the Blues Fest - before returning to the UK to begin work on his eagerly awaited follow up to the current Dog House Music album and his debut - 2004's Cheap - a collaboration with Swedish rhythm section The Level Devils.

Seasick Steve plays at The Royal Albert Hall in London 1 October (tickets are priced between £15.50 - £29.50). If you can't wait that long and you're over in Eire, he's playing the Dublin, Tripod on the 23rd of this mont (tickets for which are €20.00).
