If you happen to live in Dubai, you'll have no trouble finding a hotel that is suitably splendid for your pet. The 'Petland Pet-Resort' caters to the every whim of assorted animals and livestock: dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters and reptiles, but sadly, not humans. Pampered pets can expect top-class service and all the mod cons, from TV to air-conditioning and from relaxing music to limousines.

Sadly, we can't all afford to whisk our pet away to enjoy such opulence, but we can make sure that they get the best treatment available here in the UK.

Choosing a Pet-Friendly Hotel

Here are some questions to bear in mind when choosing a pet-friendly hotel:

  • Is there a charge for bringing your pet along?

  • Does the hotel have pet supplies (blankets, bowls, etc) or will you have to bring your own?

  • If your pet is a dog, does the hotel have a dog exercise area?

  • Are there any rules about keeping your pet in the hotel?

  • Will the hotel provide food for your dog, or should you supply your own?
