More Doctor Who from the BBC for the timelord's 40th anniversary year comes in the shape of The Two Doctors.

Uniting second Doctor Patrick Troughton with Colin Baker (the incumbent in the role when this was first shot, in the early eighties) this is a corker of a production. Coming face to face with himself in 20th Century Seville, the Doctor discovers that his old adversaries, the Sontarans, are about to dissect his former self as part of a barbaric genetic experiment.

What is the purpose behind this operation and how will this assist them in their enslavement of the Universe? Time is running out for the Doctor who must find a solution to this problem before he ends up on the operating table and undergoes a fate worse than death...

The usual extensive special features we've come to expect from all the BBC 'Who releases this time include:

  • A commentary track by Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Frazer Hines, Jaqueline Pearce and director Peter Moffat


  • 'Jim'll Fix It' - A Fix with Sontarans, starring Colin Baker, Janet Fielding and the lad with his own Doctor Who costume (made by his grandmother - where is he now, we wonder?) Gareth Jenkins


  • 'Beneath the Sun' - a 35-minute featurette with some of the raw footage shot on location in Seville, Spain


  • 'Adventures in Time and Spain' - a 30-minute documentary comparing the original locations with how they look today


  • 'Behind the Sofa', a 45-minute documentary about the writing of the legendary TV scriptwriter Robert Holmes


  • A Segment from the radio series 'Wavelength' on the making of the story, isolated music soundtrack, production notes and photo gallery
